Burgundy France is wine country and so here is your chance to drop in and visit some of the best names in Bourgogne wines! This bike tour is a short tour to experience the wines of Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune, you can visit some names such as Meursault, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet, Vougeot, and others. You have time to discover the charming city of Beaune, and most notably its famous Hospices which was founded in 1443. While in Beaune you can also visit its museums and walk its old cobbled streets. You will spend 2 nights in Beaune, 1 night in Meursault, and 2 nights in Nuits St Georges, all charming wine villages. In each town you can visit caves and taste the different varieties and of course enjoy the famous cuisine of Burgundy!

 

 

Itinerary

Day 1 | Arriving in the wine capital, the city of of Beaune, you have a little time to explore this city and some of its treasures including the Hotel Dieu (hospices) before or after your arrival orientation at 6PM. Dinner on your own in town, and free time to visit. Night in centrally located 3 star hotel.

Day 2 | After breakfast, you cycle from Beaune to Nuits Saint Georges to discover the surrounding vineyards. You'll cycle on gentle rolling roads to Clos Vougeot, one of the largest single vineyards in Burgundy producing grand cru wines. Then on to Vosne Romasnee among other wine sites. Cycle on to Nuits Saint Georges and overnight in a charming 3* hotel. 38 km cycling. (B,D)

Day 3 | Cycle to the Cotes de Nuits vineyards, between Beaune and Dijon. Discover the charming villages of Chambolle Musigny, Morey Saint Denis and Gevrey Chambertin (medieval castle) among others, and return to your charming 3* hotel in Nuits Saint Georges.Night and dinner included. 35 km cycling. Day 4 | A ride from Nuits Saint Georges to Meursault with two different options. For the strongest cyclists, a beautiful scenic ride through the forest du Grand Ha, along la Combe de Pertuis, on a rolling terrain. An easier ride will take you to the Abbaye de Citeaux and down to Meursault via the Foret de Citeaux on the east side of Beaune. Overnight in a charming hotel in Meursault. Dinner on your own. 40 or 48 km cycling options. (B)

Day 5 | Departure is at your leisure. Additional visits and stays can be arranged to allow more time to discover the vineyards if desired. (B) Transfer back to Beaune included.
