France's oldest and most famous Festival

Festival d'Avignon:

The Avignon Festival is France 's oldest and most famous festival founded in 1947 by Jean Vilar. From July 4-26, 2008, this is one of the big events of the summer in Provence . It is considered one of the best theatrical festivals in the world and is covered by more than 500 journalists!

Crowds book up most of the hotel rooms making traveling in/out difficult without advance reservations.
